SafeNet Trusted Access for IBM Connections Cloud

Overview

Configuring SafeNet Trusted Access for IBM Connections Cloud is a three-step process:

1.IBM Connections Cloud setup

2.SafeNet Trusted Access setup

3.Verify authentication

IBM Connections Cloud Setup

As a prerequisite, download the Identity Provider metadata from the SafeNet Trusted Access console by clicking the Download Metadata button. You will need this metadata in one of the steps below.

1.Provide the Identity Provider metadata to the IBM Connections Cloud support team. The support team will configure SAML settings for your account that is registered with IBM Connections Cloud.

2.Provide the following IDP initiated URL to the IBM Connections Cloud support team to set it as a login URL for the users in your organization:
https://<SingleSignOnService>/clients/<Application Name>.

Where,

<SingleSignOnService> is the SingleSignOnService URL that is provided on the SafeNet Trusted Access console.

<Application Name> is the name of the IBM Connections Cloud application that you entered while configuring SafeNet Trusted Access console.

For example, <Your SafeNet IDP Single Sign-On Service URL>/clients/IBMConnectionsCloud

Obtaining Metadata

Contact the IBM Connections Cloud support team for the IBM Connections Cloud metadata.

SafeNet Trusted Access Setup

After completing the first step of configuring SafeNet Trusted Access in IBM Connections Cloud, the second step is to activate the IBM Connections Cloud application in SafeNet Trusted Access by performing the following steps:

1.In the Applications pane, you will notice that the IBM Connections Cloud application you added earlier is currently in inactive state by default. To configure and activate this application, click the application (for example, IBM Connections Cloud) and proceed to the next step.

2.Under STA Setup, click Upload IBM Connections Cloud Metadata.

3.On the Metadata upload window, click Browse to search and select the IBM Connections Cloud metadata.

4.Under Account Details, the service provider metadata information is displayed.

5.Click Save Configuration to save the details and activate the IBM Connections Cloud application in SafeNet Trusted Access.

Verify Authentication

Using STA Console

Navigate to the IBM Connections Cloud login URL to log in to your IBM Connections Cloud domain, enter your email address and click Sign In. You will be redirected to the SafeNet Trusted Access sign-in page. Enter your primary directory login information, approve the two-factor authentication, and you should be redirected to the IBM Connections Cloud homepage after authentication.

Using STA User Portal

Navigate to the User Portal URL to log in to the STA User Portal dashboard. On the dashboard, you will see a list of applications to which you have access. Click on the IBM Connections Cloud application icon, you should be redirected to the IBM Connections Cloud homepage after authentication.
